Position Title: Quality Management Specialist

Location: Albany, New York

Job Description:
18 month contract for a Quality Management Specialist for their environment of mainframe, mid-range, personal computers and laptops.  This agency currently utilizes Precise I3 / I2 monitoring software to monitor applications and proactively aids the IT department with application troubleshooting.  The Specialist will be assigning ownership, conducting knowledge transfer and documenting the process.   They will be responsible for integration of APM tools (I2/I3 and Tivoli), work with each development group to demonstrate the methodology and techniques, build a knowledge transfer schedule and agenda, document and publish experiences, provide leadership during Load-Testing and troubleshooting.  Additional responsibilities will include developing performance strategy, implementing initial IT service goals and build agreements with the organizations and business units.

Skills Required :                
Candidates must have experience with the following:

  • At least 2 years of experience with writing application software, data analysis, data access, data structures, data manipulation, databases, design, programming, testing and implementation, technical and user documentation, software conversions
  • At least 2 years of experience in a particular technical and/or business application which is beyond the requirements (examples include but are not limited to: CNE – Certified Network Engineer, Lotus Notes Certified Application Developer, MCSE, PC Computer Designer, WebMaster, etc.)

Skills Preferred:       
The following skills are desired, but not mandatory:

  • 2 or more years experience with application load testing and troubleshooting. (developing test plans, defining metrics to troubleshoot application problems, HP LoadRunner)
  • 2 or more years of experience establishing procedures and policies for application monitoring (initial requests for new application, detailed analysis, release testing, establishing performance strategies, service goals, SLAs with business units)
  • 2 or more years experience conducting training and knowledge transfer to technical staff (giving presentations to technical and non-technical staff)
  • 1 or more years of experience with monitoring MS .Net applications with Precise I3/I2
  • 1 or more years of experience with monitoring J2EE applications with Precise I3/I2
