Position Title: IT Manager
Location: New York City, NY
Job Description:
NYS agency is searching for an IT Manager who will provide support to 70+ staff members in New York City. The IT Manager will ensure coordination of desktop computing, end-user access to mission critical systems and responsiveness to IT needs, which can include: technical support for Novell/GroupWise servers, email, office automation tools, network file and print support, desktop configuration, IT training and conference support. Additional responsibilities include:
- Serve as the facility coordinator for directing and managing all aspects of facility-based Information Technology (IT) activities including physical site preparations, end user security, equipment installations and end-user training.
- Work with Central Office IT staff to ensure coordination of desktop computing, end-user access to mission-critical systems and responsiveness to NYC Field Office customer service.
- Support the personal computing devices at NYC Field Office ensuring a standardized, efficient and reliable operation of the agency’s personal computing (PC) environment. The personal computer is a factor in every current and projected automation initiative.
- Support office automation, e-mail and numerous application platforms as well as mission critical information systems in the Windows Operating System environment for all NYC Field Office personnel.
- Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive plans for systems utilization at NYC Field Office including selection of hardware and software for general use well as specific specialty software/hardware to satisfy unique requests consistent with agency guidelines and initiatives.
- Assist in the implementation of enterprise-wide application systems.
Skills Required:
Candidates must have experience with the following:
- Windows Operating System, Local and Network printers, End-user support
- Novell GroupWise (account creation and administration), eDirectory, MS Active Directory
- LAN/WAN architecture, installation and configuration of pc hardware and software
- Project Management and Excellent interpersonal skills
