Position Title: Entry Level Help Desk Specialists
Number of Openings: 6
Location: Albany, NY
Job Description:
NYS agency is searching for multiple Entry Level Help Desk Technicians to work in an IT Help Desk environment. They will assist the department with providing Level 1 Help Desk support for customers for a period of12 months (with the possibility of a project extension). They will be providing the following:
- Manage, track and follow-up on IT related calls through problem resolution
- Work independently to assist users in the resolution of general IT questions and requests for IT support
- Provide tutoring to users with operating equipment and systems, as well as assist with training others
- Perform daily backups of data and/or software developed as a result of their tasks
- Attend weekly status meetings
Skills Required:
Candidates must have experience with the following:
- At least 1-2 years of solid help desk experience in a work environment
- Demonstrated experience in meeting ambitious deadlines, delivering high-quality work, working closely with business customers and leadership skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Skills Preferred:
Experience with HP Service Center software (formerly Peregrine Service Center).
Education:
An Associate’s Degree in Computer Science is preferred. A Bachelor’s Degree is a plus! Help Desk certifications and/or training is preferred. Customer service training or certifications are a plus! A+ and/or MCP certification is a plus!
